NEW REPORT CLAIMS BRAD DOURIF IS “RETIRED” EXCEPT FOR…

Posted on: May 6th, 2024

He’s been a fixture on the big and small screens for over 50 years now, he’s endeared us, made us laugh, and terrified us. Sadly, word reaches us that actor Brad Dourif now considers himself “retired” at the age of 74.

Following an interview for the USA and SyFy show Chucky, Dourif allegedly made the retirement claim to reporter Tyler Nichols.

I know what you’re thinking… Is this the end of Chucky?!

… And we’re here to assure you it’s not!

You see, although Dourif seeks to retire from the screen to enjoy is golden years, he just can’t say goodbye to his friend til the end.

According to Nichols:
“Dourif said that he’s retired from acting. The only reason he came back for the show was because of his daughter Fiona and he considers Chucky creator Don Mancini to be family. But for non-Chucky stuff, he considers himself retired.”

So, it appears Chucky isn’t going anywhere just yet, despite Brad Dourif opting to walk away from other roles that may come his way. It is understandable why the actor would choose to continue portraying Chucky, as the role has become very close to his heart over the course of almost 4 decades. With the inclusion of his daughter Fiona in the franchise, it has now become a family affair, and the two have an undeniable chemistry together.

While we’re saddened that we won’t see Brad quite as often anymore, we respect that he is a legend and deserves a well-earned retirement after a glittering career. And… at least Chucky is sticking around!
