Admittedly, I’m not a huge fan of water, so any film that delves in to this fear sends shocks straight through me. The Shallow is another flick that proves there are plenty of dangers at sea and even if you’re Blake Lively, you’re going to be in trouble if you’re stranded on a rock with a great white shark swimming below you.
Synopsis:
In the taut thriller The Shallows, Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing alone on a secluded beach when she is attacked by a great white shark and stranded just a short distance from shore. Though she is only 200 yards from her survival, getting there proves the ultimate contest of wills.
You can watch the trailer below which shows that safety is just a short distance away, but when there’s a shark in close proximity, it may as well be a million miles. The poster is simple and effective, painting an immediately petrifying picture as it fills the design with the sea, throws in a massive shark and a comparatively teeny tiny little Nancy. In this tale of (wo)man VS. beast, who will come out on top?
The Shallows comes from director Jaume Collett-Serra (House of Wax, Orphan) and will be released in the USA on the 29th June and the UK on 12th August.
