If you’ve ever wondered what fills the depth of hell, then I suggest you take a look at the trailer for Baskin which you can see below. I’ve never been to hell, but I definitely reckon Baskin is on the right lines. The trailer is dark, terrifying and surprisingly gorgeous to look at. If you put aside all the demented creatures that are dominating the place and the overall sense of downright terror, and Baskin embodies a beautiful red and blue colour palette with a striking use of lighting. It looks hideously scary, but visually very stunning.
Synopsis:
It’s an easy night on patrol for Arda, Remzi and the rest of their police unit: a bit of cards, a bit of football, a bit of barbecue. They could never know what to expect when summoned out to support another group of cops at a remote building. And by the time they realize what they’re facing it will be far, far too late.
The poster urges us to enter a world of suffering and madness, but I think I’m going to leave that door firmly locked. I don’t even think Alice would be crazy enough to try and get through that door.
Baskin will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, which runs between 10th-20th September 2015.
