That pesky killer doll Chucky is coming back… But is it for the last time?

In images released to promote the upcoming second half of the third season, we see that our pint-sized friend is not in a good way.

Looking sickly, gaunt, and most jarringly, without his trademark red hair, Chucky is seen confined to a bed.

Of course, this was set up prior to the forced mid-season hiatus, with Chucky seeking supernaturally based medical advice as to why he was feeling unwell. As it turns out, the power of God really can defeat evil, and the Voodoo god Dambella will no longer fuel Chucky’s immortality since he’s had an exorcism and accepted the power of Christ.

What follows is a slow degradation akin to a terminal disease, and we’re assuming Chucky’s bid to reverse this process will be the driving force behind the season’s remaining episodes.

Chucky was forced to halt production mid-way through Season 3 due to the industry strikes that paralysed Hollywood. Having only completed five of eight planned episodes, it was decided to cut the season in half and release what was complete, rather than make fans wait.

The mid-season finale saw Chucky realize he was dying, whilst a Halloween party at The White House ended with a chandelier collapse leaving all our leads in peril… Quite the cliffhanger!

These new images of a decrepit Chucky make us all the more excited for his return in the season’s second half.

Chucky will begin airing the second half of Season 3 on April 10. Viewers can watch live on SyFy and USA networks, or stream the episodes the following day on Peacock.
