“Containment breach…”
Whilst we’re still waiting on an official premiere date for FX and Hulu’s Alien: Earth, a new teaser lets us know things will be kicking off this summer.
Still without a definitive date, the clip has stirred up considerable excitement amongst Alien fans. Although brief, the teaser shows the iconic xenomorph running amok aboard a space vehicle. Smacking against a window, the creature then gazes out upon the planet earth, as a collision rapidly approaches.
Furthermore, a brand-new teaser poster puts the titular creature snarling front and centre. A brilliant tagline warns the viewer “we were safer in space.”
In an official logline, Alien: Earth is described as follows:
“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.”
The series comes to us from Fargo’s Noah Hawley, and takes place on Earth, roughly 70 years in the future. When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.
Sydney Chandler will star as Wendy, “a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.” Scream 2 and Justified actor Timothy Olyphant will co-lead as Wendy’s as-yet-unnamed handler.
Alongside Chandler and Olyphant, Alien: Earth will also feature The Babadook’s Essie Davis, comedian and actor Adrian Edmondson, Ghost Stories actor Alex Lawther, and David Rysdahl, recently cast in SOULM8TE.
