Netflix is gearing up for its first German-language outing with the crime-thriller series Dark and it looks atmospheric, creepy and mysterious. Netflix has promised that shows from Italy and Spain should also be joining it’s line-up of original content that features content from the USA, UK, France and Mexico.
The trailer is the perfect tease and sophisticatedly showcases the film’s quiet darkness, all the while hinting at a potential otherworldliness that may explain the children’s’ disappearances. There are some obvious comparisons to the hit Stranger Things as the series will follow the hunt for a missing child, but as its title would suggest, Dark seems to be heading down a much more sinister route. What begins to unravel blurs the line between fiction and reality as the strange things in this town are unearthed.
Check out the teaser below and be sure to catch Dark when it airs this winter on Netflix. Dark comes from director Baran bo Odar (Who Am I, The Silence) and stars Anna Konig, Roland Wolf, Louis Hofmann, Oliver Masucci,Jordis Triebel, Sebastian Rudolph, Mark Waschke and Karoline Eichorn.
