The Neon Demon is Nicolas Winding Refn’s (Drive, Only God Forgives) first step in to the world of horror and it’s a memorable one. It’s a gorgeous and remarkably grotesque tale that shows the dark side of the modelling industry, where a select group of women will stop at nothing to be the best.
Synopsis:
When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.
In the UK The Neon Demon is set to be released on 31st October, so will make the perfect viewing material for a devilish and nightmarish Halloween. The USA will receive the film a little earlier on digital on 30th August, before the film heads to DVD and Blu-ray on 27th September.
The Neon Demon is a must-watch for fans of visually stunning and very disturbing films. It’s a blend of body horror and beauty that is frequently tough to watch. However, it’s equally as difficult to tear your eyes away from the screen that is awash with glitter, blood and violence. It’s a stunner.
