“MY BLOODY VALENTINE” REBOOT IN THE WORKS AT BLUMHOUSE

Posted on: June 4th, 2024

Way back in 1981, we were warned at the conclusion of My Bloody Valentine that; the legend of Harry Warden is “a curse that will live on and on…”

Whilst Harry didn’t appear yearly for a sequel like his studio-mate Jason Voorhees, the psychotic miner’s assault on Valentine Bluffs wasn’t forgotten. Billed as one of the tent-pole slashers of the decade, My Bloody Valentine continued to endure through home media releases, and an endless crusade by fans to fully restore censored footage.

Cementing My Bloody Valentine’s place in slasher history, the tale received a 3-D remake in 2009. Starring Jensen Ackles, My Bloody Valentine 3-D grossed over $100 million at the box-office.

However, it’s been 15 years, and Harry Warden has seemingly vanished back into the mines. Or has he…?

Sharpen your pickaxes, folks, as My Bloody Valentine is set to receive the reboot treatment from Blumhouse!

Apart from this initial confirmation, we know precious little about the project. However, we can likely assume the reboot was born out of the recent merger between Blumhouse and Lionsgate. The latter still maintain the rights to My Bloody Valentine, despite never making a sequel.

Whether the project will be an en vogue legacy sequel, or a completely fresh reboot remains unknown, and no names are currently attached to our knowledge.

However, we’ll keep a close eye on this one and let you know as soon as we have any further details on the Miner’s return.
