MIRAMAX “HALLOWEEN” TV SERIES WILL NOT FEATURE MICHAEL MYERS SOURCE ALLEGES

Posted on: February 16th, 2026

It’s been over two years since a major bidding war broke out involving the Halloween franchise. With A24, Netflix, and many other studios vying for the popular property, it was a tight race to the finish. In the end, Miramax won the primary film and television rights to Halloween, with Paramount Pictures aboard to distribute any future Halloween content.

Soon, we learned that Miramax intended to take Halloween to television, in a first for the storied horror franchise.

We knew precious little for so long, before learning that the television adaption would again act as a franchise reset. John Carpenter’s 1978 original film would be used as “a jumping off point,” in hopes of telling a new story.

However, it’s been a considerable period of time, and we’ve received no new updates from the Halloween universe. It has long been assumed that the project simply isn’t a priority, given the risk of franchise fatigue following 2022’s Halloween Ends.

Now, whispers about a Halloween TV series are afoot once more, and according to a reliable source, the premise doesn’t involve franchise icon Michael Myers.

Sean Clark, host of Horror’s Hallowed Grounds, and a reliable source for all things Halloween related, recently spoke on the long-in-gestation TV series, saying:
“I don’t think it’s going to involve Myers. I think it’s only going to be Halloween related. I heard it wouldn’t be Myers.”

If true, this would mark the second time Halloween has attempted to break away from their iconic villain. 1982’s Halloween III: Season of the Witch opted to tell a story without Myers, setting up for potential yearly anthology-style films. But as is well documented, the concept didn’t translate well, and audiences missed Michael Myers.

So, is it a wise choice for a Halloween television series to take Michael Myers out of the mix? If the past is any indicator, a Myers-less Halloween runs the risk of alienating the series’ sizeable fanbase.

We’re still awaiting any official confirmation on future Halloween instalments, but we will keep an eye on everything and bring you any further updates as soon as we can.
