All has been very quiet on the Beetlejuice sequel front, but it’s been confirmed that Mike Vukadinovich has been hired by Warner Bros to re-write the script. The script was originally written by Seth Grahame-Smith in 2012. He has since gone on to write Dark Shadows, Pride and Prejudice & Zombies and The LEGO Batman Movie.
Although it’s only a small bit of news, it’s great to see that Beetlejuice 2 is moving forward. It hasn’t been confirmed whether Tim Burton or Michael Keaton will return to the sequel, but they have both frequently expressed their interest in re-visiting Beetlejuice and that’s exciting enough. For now.
Miek Vukadinovich’s sci-fi feature debut Rememory recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews, so he’s a new and exciting face in the industry. Michael Keaton and Burton are currently working on a live action remake of Dumbo for Disney, so that’ll be intriguing.
More as it comes!
