This will come as sad news to many, because Michael Gross has confirmed that he will not be starring in Syfy’s upcoming Tremors TV series. Gross posted the following statement on Facebook:
For Tremors fans who have been asking, ‘Will Kevin Bacon return to do the films?’ or ‘Is your Burt Gummer character going to be in Kevin’s series?’ I think we can say with a good deal of certainty that the answer to both questions is NO,” Gross wrote. “The series is currently shooting in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I have no other details […] If Burt Gummer appears, [he] will be played by another [actor].”
It’s certainly disappointing, but Gross will continue to star in the film franchise and has signed on for the upcoming sixth addition, so it’s not like we’re short of Burt Gummer action. Additionally, Kevin Bacon is starring in the series, so every cloud has a silver lining.
The Tremors TV series additionally stars Emily Tremaine, Megan Ketch, Shiloh Fernandez, Toks Olagundoye, John Ellison Conlee, P.I Byrne, Hunter Parrish, Ebonee Noel, Brandon Jay McLaren and Haley Tju. The pilot will be directed by Vincenzo Natali, with a script written by the showrunner Andrew Miller.
