Actress Mia Goth has spoken on what to expect in the final entry of Ti West’s X trilogy… and it sounds very promising.

Picking up years after actress Maxine Minx survived a brutal massacre at the hands of ageing dancer Pearl, MaXXXine will see her face death once again as she tries her luck in Los Angeles. Described as “a tribute to the golden age of home video, MaXXXine will propel the story into the 1980s after 2022’s prequel Pearl took us all the way back to the 1910s.

A24 have assembled a cast including singer Halsey and genre legend Kevin Bacon to ensure the final chapter in the trilogy is one to remember. In an image released this week by the studio, Goth’s Maxine can be seen next to Halsey, now sporting long blonde hair, and surrounded by bright lights and garish colours.

Goth recently teased the film’s scale and her character’s arc in an interview with Variety:
“It’s the best script of the three by far. It’s going be the best movie of the three. It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So, when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”

MaXXXine is currently filming in and around Los Angeles, but doesn’t yet have a release date. We will let you know as soon as that changes.
