McG’s (pictured above) last directorial effort was The Babysitter, a hilarious and very dark horror-comedy that starred Samara Weaving as a babysitter with a secret. The film was released on Netflix last year and was, arguably, one of the best genre films of the year. To me, anyway! I thought it was brilliant.
McG will again re-team with Netflix to unleash his next offering Rim of the World. The film will be a sci-fi-adventure that follows a group of teenagers who must save the world from an alien invasion. It sounds like it’s going to be another light-hearted flick with a dark edge, so we’re definitely excited to see what it’s like.
Rim of the World has been written by Zack Stent (Thor, X-Men First Class) and stars Lynn Collins, Annabeth Gish, Michael Beach and Tony Cavalero. Keep an eye out for a release date soon.
