Things appear are moving quicker than anticipated on Warner Bros. Conjuring prequel.
We just brought you the news that The Conjuring: First Communion had found its all important leads. Now, we have further casting news!
It has been confirmed that prolific actor Matthias Schweighöfer has joined The Conjuring: First Communion.
Schweighöfer is one of the most prolific German performers to make the leap to Hollywood. He is known for his performances in Army of the Dead, Oppenheimer, Elio, and currently stars in the miniseries Vanished.
It is unknown what role Schweighöfer will play, plot details for the prequel are still being kept under wraps.
The actor joins Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix, who were recently cast in the pivotal roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Rodrigue Huart has been chosen to direct The Conjuring: First Communion, from a script by Richard Naing & Ian Goldberg.
The prequel is slated for release on September 10th 2027.
