Action star Mark Wahlberg has joined the cast of Paramount’s home invasion thriller aptly titled Home Invasion. Don’t get this confused with the Jason Patric-starrer of the same name which is directed by David Tennant. Not that David Tennant.
The film is being pitched as “Panic Room meets Die Hard” and follows a woman who has an illness that prevents her from being out in sunlight. Mark Wahlberg will play the role of her husband and he must protect his wife and home when the house is invaded by criminals.
Home Invasion is yet to secure a director, but it is set to be written by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) who is behind the remake of Papillon and, most surprisingly, the reboot of Friday the 13th. Home Invasion certainly has the potential to be a nail-biting and claustrophobic thriller, so let’s hope it can deliver the goods.
