Scream 7 has added yet another “family member” to its lengthy roster of returning alumni.
However, this time we’re not talking about a cast member, but someone else with a storied history regarding the franchise.
Composer Marco Beltrami has confirmed he will undertake the musical score for the seventh entry.
Replying to a fan’s comment on a post from 2023, pleading with Beltrami to return for Scream 7, the composer responded:
“Don’t worry, I am.”
This makes Beltrami the latest in a long line of returnees for the seventh instalment, lending further weight to Kevin Williamson’s claim that it’s a “reunion of the greats.”
Previously, Beltrami has provided the score for the first four Scream entries, before Brian Tyler took over the mantel for 2022’s Scream and 2023’s Scream VI.
Outside the Scream franchise, Beltrami has remained an in-demand composer since its 1996 debut. Beltrami’s work can be heard in hit films such as A Quiet Place, Venom, Red Eye, The Nun II, and Fantastic Four, among countless others.
Beltrami joins fellow returnees on Scream 7 including Kevin Williamson, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Scott Foley.
How so many returning characters, living and dead, will tie into the movie’s plot is being kept a closely guarded secret, although speculation has been rampant for months.
Given that he created the iconic cues Sidney’s Lament and Trouble in Woodsboro, Beltrami’s involvement has been greeted with much fanfare from Scream devotees.
Will Beltrami be the only “legacy” crew member to return for the seventh Scream instalment? We’ll keep our ear to the ground and report any further developments.
Scream 7 is currently slated to release on February 27th 2026 via Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group.
