From developer Wales Interactive, Maid of Sker was originally set to release in 2019 before being pushed back to June 2020. While the release has been delayed again, the wait isn’t too much longer—the survival horror game will now release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in July, with a Switch version still planned for October.
“The new date will enable Maid of Sker to launch simultaneously across digital and physical platforms,” said game director Richard Pring in a statement, “whilst also allowing for the team to fine-tune the macabre horror in Maid of Sker to its absolutely terrifying limits!”
Set in 1898, Maid of Sker is inspired by Welsh folklore and takes place around the real 16th-century mansion Sker House, which is said to be haunted by the ghost of a heartbroken woman. The game will use a sound-based AI system and no-weapon survival tactics, forcing you to trap, distract, and evade increasingly challenging enemies until your only option is to hold your breath… and pray.
