Wayward Pines have been cancelled at Fox, but M. Night Shyamalan is not quitting the world of TV just yet. It is being reported that the Sixth Sense and Split director is to collaborate with Apple on a 30-minute 10-episode psychological thriller series.
Apple is getting serious as it increases its list of originals, hoping to compete with streaming giants Netflix and Amazon. Apple is also working on dramas with Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon and Damien Chazelle, as well as a reboot Amazing Stories with executive producer Steven Spielberg.
Details are limited on the M. Night Shyamalan series, but we do know that 24’s Tony Basgallop created the series, and he will write and executive producer alongside Shyamalan, Split’s Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black and Steve Tisch for Blinding Edge.
