A sequel to the violent action-thriller Becky is on the way, and Lulu Wilson is reprising the title role!
In the 2020 original, which was directed by Jonathan Millot and Cary Murnion, Becky (Wilson) and her father (Joel McHale) went for a weekend getaway to a lake house in an attempt to reconnect. But their trip took a deadly turn when a group of escaped convicts, led by the merciless Dominick (Kevin James) arrived and invaded the house.
Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote (The Open House) wrote and directed the sequel, which is called Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky. The film will follow the rebellious teen, who has been living off the grid for two years, as she goes toe to toe against Daryll, the leader of a fascist organisation on the eve of an organised attack. Daryll is played by Seann William Scott (Bloodline).
“Audiences have been asking for a Becky sequel since the film’s 2020 premiere and we’re proud to work with Quiver [Distribution] again to extend the franchise,” said producer Russ Posternak in a statement. “Our goal was to up the ante from Becky 1 in every way imaginable and with Matt and Suz’s wild script and Seann William Scott’s turn as our terrifying villain opposite Lulu’s Becky, we know we’ll deliver the thrills, gore and heart that audiences loved in the original.”
According to Deadline, production on the new chapter recently wrapped.
