Send Help, filmmaker Sam Raimi’s long-awaited return to the horror genre, continues to gain momentum, with yet another new cast member.
Dennis Haysbert, best known to audiences for his turns in TV dramas 24 and Lucifer, has joined the cast in an undisclosed role.
Haysbert joins the already announced leads Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien.
From 20th Century Studios, Send Help will follow:
“Two colleagues who become stranded on a deserted island, the only survivors of a plane crash. On the island, they must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it’s a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.”
From a script by Freddy Vs. Jason scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, Send Help is described as “Castaway meets Misery.”
Zainab Azizi will produce alongside Raimi and the “Raimi Productions” banner.
Send Help will mark Raimi’s first genre directing gig since 2009’s universally adored Drag Me to Hell. The director’s return to horror has fans excited, and so, we’ll be watching this project closely for any further updates.
