A new trailer has been unveiled for the faux horror-documentary Living Among US, which follows a documentary crew as they spend some time with a family of vampires. As you would probably expect, things don’t go to plan and they find themselves fighting to survive against the blood-thirsty creatures.
The trailer is almost dialogue free and relies purely on the unsettling imagery and the great choice of Crystal Castle’s song Not in Love featuring The Cure’s Robert Smith. The combination of horror, modern synth and haunting lyrics creates a trailer that is almost impossible to define. The clashing of these very different tones should not work, but there is something about the differing feels that creates an appealing and exciting mix, one that reflects the film’s focus on truth and reality.
Living Among Us will be directed by Brian A. Metcalf (Strange Ones, The Lost Tree) and the cast includes William Sadler, John Heard, James Russo, Esme Bianco, Andrew Keegan and Thomas Ian Nichols.
Originally completed in 2013, Living Among Us finally has a release date slated for 1st July 2017 in the USA.
