Brooke McCarter, who is mostly recognised for his role as Paul in the cult classic vampire flick The Lost Boys has passed away at the young age of 52. The actor was suffering from a rare genetic liver condition which was discovered just earlier this year.
This statement was released following the sad news of his death:
He passed this morning, surrounded by close family and friends, including his daughter Kaitlin McCarter, age 12. He will be remembered as a talented actor and musician. He was beloved son, brother, father, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend.
His family appreciates the thoughts and prayers from family, friends and fans during this very sad and difficult time. Funeral arrangements are still being finalised. Anyone interested in making a donation for further research into the liver disorder he had, please visit alphnet.org.
As a member of Kiefer Sutherland’s vampire gang in the film, Paul eventually met his demise in a bathtub filled with holy water (and useless garlic). Despite leaving Hollywood to pursue an entirely different career, he was still a fan favourite and frequented various horror conventions in the USA.
From everyone at SCREAM and all of our readers; Rest In Peace Brooke and thanks for bringing us a truly ferocious and fantastic vampire.
