Adrian Lyne’s 1987 psychological thriller Fatal Attraction is getting the series treatment. Paramount has ordered the project to series for Paramount+, with Lizzy Caplan (Castle Rock, Cloverfield) set to star!
Caplan will play Alex, the character portrayed by Glenn Close in the movie. Alex becomes obsessed with her lover (originally played by Michael Douglas) after a brief affair, leading her to stalk him and his family. Casting is still underway for the male lead.
According to Deadline, “the series explores the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes towards strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control.” Alexandra Cunningham serves as showrunner and is writing the script from a story she co-wrote with Kevin J. Hynes.
