Netflix is bringing us our first-ever live-action Resident Evil series in July, and the show’s teaser trailer pairs a chipper song with some pulse-pounding horror action.
Set in 2036, 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Resident Evil sees Jade Wesker fight for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation, but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”
Andrew Dabb serves as showrunner on the eight-episode series, which was written and executive produced by Mary Leah Sutton. Lance Reddick (The Guest) stars as Albert Wesker and Ella Balinska (Charlie’s Angels) plays Jade Wesker. The cast also includes Tamara Smart (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), Siena Agudong (Let Us In), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Paola Nuñez (The Purge), Turlough Convery (Saint Maud), Ahad Raza Mir, and Connor Gossatti.
Resident Evil infects Netflix on July 14th. Check out the teaser trailer below.
