With the arrival of July, we’re just over three months away from the debut episode of Crystal Lake.
The Friday the 13th prequel series from A24 and Peacock will follow the early lives of serial killer Pamela Voorhees and her son Jason.
With the release date nearing, fans are expecting some promo material soon.
It seems the hype train is starting up, as we have some new info from Linda Cardellini on what fans can expect from Crystal Lake.
The actress, who will portray the iconic Pamela Voorhees, begins:
“[Pamela is] important to the series, but sort of unexplored. So, I thought that would be really, really fun, to do something I’d never done.”
Cardellini is undoubtedly referencing the fact Pamela Voorhees only appears in the final fifteen minutes of 1980’s Friday the 13th, and was never seen again. Furthermore, we know nothing about her past, besides her having a son named Jason.
Cardellini continues:
“Brad Kane has made sort of this mixtape of all the things that he would love to see happen for her. It goes all over the place for her character and it’s really fun.”
So, it seems Cardellini had a lot of material to work with, and we’re undeniably curious where Crystal Lake will take Pamela Voorhees.
Chucky alum Callum Vinson will star alongside Cardellini as a young version of her son Jason.
Crystal Lake is set to premiere on October 15th via Peacock.
The show will debut on Sky Atlantic and streamer NowTV in the United Kingdom.
