Showtime’s series adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s 2004 novel Let the Right One In was officially ordered to series last September. The latest casting news: Nick Stahl (Hunter Hunter, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) has signed on as a series regular.
Deadline reports that Stahl will play Matthew, “a former soldier and fiercely loyal fixer for the Logan family, whose clean-cut, mild-mannered exterior belies a savagery beneath.” He joins the previously announced Demián Bichir (The Nun), Anika Noni Rose (Assassination Nation), Grace Gummer (Dr. Death), Kevin Carroll (The Walking Dead), Madison Taylor Baez, Ian Foreman, and Jacob Buster.
Let the Right One In will centre around Bichir’s Mark and his daughter Eleanor (Baez), whose lives changed forever when, 10 years earlier, Eleanor was turned into a vampire. Locked in at age 12, perhaps forever, Eleanor lives a closed-in life, able to go out only at night, while her father does his best to provide her with the human blood she needs to stay alive.
Andrew Hinderaker (Away) will serve as showrunner on the series, with Seith Mann (Homeland) directing. The project comes to us from Tomorrow Studios.
