The past few years really have seen a resurgence of horror anthology movies, and there’s no denying they’re a great showcase for short film. Testament to this fact is PHOBIAS, a filmmaking collaboration executive produced by Radio Silence (the team behind the upcoming sequel to Scream) that explores our extreme fears and anxieties.
Directed by Joe Sill, Maritte Lee Go, Chris von Hoffmann, Camilla Belle and Jess Varley and featuring an ensemble cast of Leonardo Nam (“Westworld”), Martina Garcia (“Narcos”), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect), Lauren Miller Rogen (Izzy Gets the F*ck Across Town), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect) and Macy Gray (The Paperboy) the film tells the tale of five dangerous patients, suffering from extreme phobias, who find themselves trapped in a testing facility where they are put to the ultimate test under the supervision of a crazed doctor and his quest to weaponise their fears.
Vertical Entertainment will release Phobias in Theatres, On Demand and Digital this March 19 and SCREAM sat down with the lead actor, Leonardo Nam whose pivotal role binds all the segments together to give the film much more coherency than most anthologies that have come before it.
