Sex and The City (but more significantly from our side, Big Trouble in Little China) star Kim Cattrall has been added to the cast of Tell Me a Story, a psychological thriller series penned by Scream writer Kevin Williamson.
The series, which “takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller,” is being developed for CBS All Access. The 10-episode first season will rework The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel into an “…epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.”
Cattrall is playing Colleen, a very nontraditional grandmother who is forced to take on the parental role she has always shirked when her family faces a dark and sinister threat. She will star alongside Billy Magnussen, who has previous with dark fairytales, having appeared in 2014’s Into the Woods.
As well as writing the series, Williamson will executive produce alongside Aaron Kaplan, Dana Honor and Liz Friedlander, who is also set to direct the first two episodes.
