One of many movies very much on our radar right now is Paramount’s Crawl, which will be directed by Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, The Hills Have Eyes), and has none other than Sam Raimi onboard as producer. Currently in negotiations to lead the cast is Kaya Scodelario (pictured above), who starred in the Maze Runner films, and will soon be seen in Ted Bundy pic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
THR reported to casting news, revealing:
“Scodelario will play a young woman who, while struggling to save her father during a Category 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped inside a flooding house and fighting for her life against Florida’s most savage and feared predators.”
Producing alongside Raimi is Craig J. Flores (Fathers and Daughters, 300: Rise of an Empire). Aja wrote the most recent draft of the script, which started life as a spec from Shawn and Michael Rasmussen, the writers behind John Carpenter’s The Ward.
