Following an incredible festival run including TIFF, the BFI London Film festival, and Frightfest Glasgow, breakout genre filmmakers, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s latest brain-boggling sci-fi feature is all set to release in the UK on digital this January 29.
According to the filmmaking duo, the premise – which dawned on them whilst spending some time in London a few years back – audiences are in for a ride that will ultimately either provide them with existential torture or comfort. Blending mind-bending thrills and chills with relatable emotional turmoil, the film stars Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey franchise) and Anthony Mackie (The Avengers franchise, Detroit) as two New Orleans paramedics who get called to a series of horrific death scenes which all appear somehow related to a designer drug which has bizarre, otherworldly effects.
With the film releasing this Friday, SCREAM caught up with Moorhead and Benson to talk about this head-scratching and disturbing mix of films like Limitless and Bringing Out The Dead that will leave you asking yourself what your place in space and time is before and after your own mortality.
