Mayhem director Joe Lynch has signed up to direct a remake of Point Blank for Netflix. The original was released in 2010 and was a French action-drama that followed a male nurse who gets caught in a world of crime when his wife is taken hostage.
Since directing the grisly and entertaining sequel Wrong Turn 2, Lynch has directed 2014’s Everly and last year’s violent and mad Mayhem. He is also attached to directing a film called Taste which is currently in pre-production. Lynch is a director we’re definitely expecting to continue seeing great things from.
So far, Point Blank has Anthony Mackie and The Purge’s Frank Grillo attached to it, with production expected to begin this summer. Does that mean a 2019 release date? We hope so!
