Have any mothers out there pondered what your child does when you’re not around? Perhaps they create an imaginary version of you…
But what if it suddenly became real?
That’s the question posed in the terrifying first trailer for Rob Savage’s upcoming flick Other Mommy.
Based on Josh Malerman’s novel Incidents Around the House, Other Mommy stars Jessica Chastain in a dual role.
Chastain plays Ursula, a working mother who is highly unnerved by her daughter and husband reporting that a doppelganger entity haunts their home. The actress also portrays said entity, known as “Other Mommy,” who has a nasty habit of causing accidents.
Desperate to protect her family, Ursula must contend with something that looks and behaves just like her… Leaving her loved ones unsure who they can trust.
Alongside Chastain, Other Mommy stars Jay Duplass and Arabella Olivia Clark as the family in peril.
Nathan Elston adapts Malerman’s novel for the screen, whilst filmmaker Rob Savage adds another title to his ever-growing horror filmography.
Other Mommy is produced by James Wan, marking one of his first solo producing ventures under the Blumhouse-Atomic Monster label.
The movie is set to hit screens on October 9th 2026 via Universal Pictures.
