Scott Derrickson (Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) is directing a new horror movie, The Black Phone, for Blumhouse and Universal—and Jeremy Davies (Hannibal, Ravenous) is set to star!
The film is based on Joe Hill’s short story of the same name and was written by Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill (Sinister). Cargill recently teased the plot on Twitter, writing “A kidnapped kid. A creepy, soundproofed basement. An ancient, disconnected phone. Then, when night falls, the phone rings.”
Joe Hill will serve as an executive producer on the movie, which also stars Mason Thames (For All Mankind) and Madeleine McGraw (Outcast). Jason Blum, Derrickson, and Cargill will produce.
