We’re getting closer and closer to seeing serial killer hit Dexter return to the small screen, with Michael C. Hall reprising the title role. And he’s not the only original cast member making a comeback: Jennifer Carpenter will return to play Dex’s sister, Debra Morgan.
Debra, a homicide detective for the Miami Metro Homicide Division, died in the much-reviled series finale. And she’s not the only deceased character coming back: John Lithgow’s Arthur Mitchell, the Trinity Killer, will also be making an appearance. But since the series has always featured Dexter talking to visions of his dead adopted father, Harry (James Remar), this doesn’t seem out of place.
Clyde Phillips is back as showrunner on the 10-episode revival, which is set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura. The character is now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami. New cast members include Jamie Chung (Lovecraft Country), Clancy Brown (The Mortuary Collection), Julia Jones (The Twilight Saga), Alano Miller (Underground), Johnny Sequoyah (Believe), and Jack Alcott (The Good Lord Bird).
