It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but after 47 years in the industry, Jamie Lee Curtis has achieved Hollywood’s ultimate accolade… The legendary Scream Queen is now an Academy Award Winner!
Jamie’s Oscar vehicle Everything, Everywhere, All At Once literally swept the ceremony, winning Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, Best Director(s), Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress… Phew!
Visibly shocked, Curtis was seen to scream “shut up” as her name was announced, followed by a narration that paid tribute to her horror heritage.
“Jamie Lee Curtis made her big screen debut in the horror classic Halloween, 45 years later she was an executive producer on the final instalment Halloween Ends”
A visibly emotional Curtis paid tribute to horror roots as she accepted her accolade, proving that as she always said, Halloween is never far from her heart.
“To all the people that have supported the genre movies I’ve made for all these years… The thousands and hundreds of thousands of people! We just won an Oscar, together!”
Signing off with a touching moment, Curtis broke down as she gave thanks to her legendary parents before uttering “I just won an Oscar…”
Fans the world over have expressed their joy for Curtis, and the horror community in particular is delighted to be included in such a momentous event. Laurie Strode won an Oscar…. Congratulations, Jamie!
