There have already been huge hints at another addition to The Conjuring franchise and considering the huge success of The Conjuring 2, this is not surprising.
In an interview with IGN, James Wan has hinted at some of his ideas for The Conjuring 3, including the possibility of setting the film in the 1980s. He said, “I do think [as] Conjuring 1 and 2 are both set in the 70s, I think Conjuring 3 has got to be set in the 80s.” This sounds like the perfect idea to us and gives Wan the opportunity to dive into one of horror’s, arguably, greatest time periods.
One of the most exciting comments he made during the interview was the idea to set the Warrens against a backdrop of The Hound of the Baskervilles. More specifically, “Maybe we can go and do it like a classic American Werewolf in London style. That would be awesome!” We aren’t sure how many werewolf cases the Warrens were involved in, but if anything, wouldn’t it be great to see Wan tackle a proper monster movie?
The Conjuring 2 is in cinemas now and it’s terrifyingly brilliant. Check out our 4-star review here.
