James Gunn may be best known nowadays for directing Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel but he’s a horror filmmaker at heart, getting his start in the hallowed halls of Tromaville, from where he broke out on his own with ace 2006 horror-comedy Slither. He also scripted this year’s The Belko Experiment, and is back within the genre for his latest project too.
As reported by Deadline, Gunn (pictured) is set to produce an as-yet untitled horror film for The H Collective, which has been scripted by his brother Brian and cousin Mark. Attached to direct is David Yarovesky, who directed 2015 virus horror The Hive and has an existing relationship with Gunn, having appeared fleetingly in Guardians and assisted with post-production on The Belko Experiment.
No plot details have been released as yet, but the film is scheduled to begin filming this coming spring, with The H Collective producing alongside Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment.
