Jacob Estes (Mean Creek, The Details) is set to direct the time-travel thriller Only You for Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions. Blumhouse has fast become the go-to studio for audience-loving genre films and its most recent effort Get Out has become a box office smash, breaking a ton of records and is adored by critics, audiences and horror fans alike. It’s also terrifying as hell.
Jacob Estes’ Mean Creek was a spectacular, memorable and hard-hitting horror film about bullying and revenge, originally being released back in 2004. The Details saw the director heading into a completely different direction with a comedy-drama starring Tobey Maguire and Elizabeth Banks. We’re excited to see Estes returning to the genre we love the most and can’t wait to see what wicked concoction he and Blumhouse cook up with Only You.
So far, it has been confirmed that David Oyelowo will star in Only You. The plot is being kept under-wraps, but we do know that it will involve time travel. Jason Blum will produce and Oyelowo will executive produce with Couper Samuelson, Jeanette Volturno and Jay Martin. More as it comes!
