As we reported this past week, Paramount Pictures recently released a controversial new teaser for the sixth Scary Movie instalment.
Parodying the recent release of the blockbuster biopic, the newest poster and teaser took aim at the turbulent legal history of the late pop star Michael Jackson.
Proclaiming of Jackson “only one artist has truly touched his fans…” the teaser struck a sour note with many people.
It seems the most aggrieved party was the Jackson family, as we’re hearing that the prolific musical dynasty isn’t pleased with the promo.
Worryingly, a reliable source is reporting that the Jackson family has sought legal advice, and is threatening action against Paramount Pictures.
Of course, this is the line that such biting satire always walks, and the Wayans brothers did promise that nothing was off limits.
However, with possible legal action hanging over Scary Movie, will the studio be forced to retract its most recent teaser?
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this, and will let you know if any possible litigation could affect the release of Scary Movie this June.
The movie is set to hit screens on June 5th 2026.
