If you’re a fan of classic Italian giallo cinema then, boy, do we have a treat for you. We have been sent the teaser trailer for Davide Melini’s (The Sweet Hand of the White Rose) giallo tribute, Deep Shock; the title combines two of the greatest giallo features, Dario Argento’s Deep Red and Mario Bava’s Shock.
The trailer bursts with expected eroticism, mystery, slasher violence and a heap of iconic imagery typically associated with giallos, so we can’t wait to see what delights the full-length film offers.
Synopsis:
Sarah can’t completely overcome the deaths of her grandfather and her older sister. The trauma and lack of sleep cause her to embark on a strange journey of apparitions and murders, apparently caused by her mind…
There is a brilliant team behind Deep Shock including producers Luca Vannella (Avengers, Apocalypto, Heart of the Sea), Alexis Continente (Murder on the Orient Express), Vincenzo Mastrantonio (Moulin Rouge, The Passion of Christ), Bobby Holland (The Dark Knight Rises Game of Thrones), Ferdinando Merolla (Gangs of New York, Hannibal Rising) and Roberto Paglialunga.
The cast includes Muireann Bird, Francesc Pagès, George Bracebridge, Lorna Larkin, Erica Prior and Luis Fernández de Eribe. Deep Shock is currently in post-production and has a release date slated for summer 2017.
