Ishana Night Shyamalan, daughter of M. Night Shyamalan, will soon be making her feature directorial debut! She’s set to helm The Watchers for New Line.
The Watchers “follows Mina, a 28-year-old artist who gets stranded in an expansive, untouched forest in western Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unknowingly becomes trapped alongside three strangers that are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.”
In addition to directing, Ishana Night Shyamalan wrote the script for The Watchers, which is an adaptation of A.M. Shine’s 2021 horror novel of the same name. Previously, she served as a writer and director on several episodes of the acclaimed Apple TV+ series Servant.
M. Night Shyamalan and Ashwin Rajan will produce The Watchers through Blinding Edge Pictures, with Inimitable Pictures’ Nimitt Mankad also producing. Jo Homewood will executive produce.
Filming on The Watchers gets underway later this year. The film is slated to release on June 7th, 2024.
