Casting continues on AMC’s small-screen adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, with Eric Bogosian (Blade: Trinity, Uncut Gems) being the latest to sign on.
According to Variety, Bogosian will play Daniel Molloy, “an investigative journalist nearing the end of his career who’s given a second chance at the interview of a lifetime.” In the 1994 film adaptation, the role was played by Christian Slater.
Other confirmed cast members for Interview with the Vampire include Sam Reid as Lestat de Lioncourt, Jacob Anderson as Louis de Pointe du Lac, and Bailey Bass as Claudia. The series is being created, written, and showrun by Rolin Jones, with Alan Taylor directing the first two episodes of the seven-episode first season.
In the novel Interview with the Vampire, which was first published in 1976, a 200-year-old vampire tells a reporter the story of how he was turned, why his relationship with his creator soured, and what became of their makeshift family. The AMC series is expected to arrive sometime this year.
