We’re less than a month away from the sixth Insidious instalment, so it’s the perfect time for an official rating!
According to a new listing by the MPA, Insidious: Out of the Further has been rated PG-13 for:
“Strong violent content, bloody images, terror and some strong language.”
The PG-13 rating keeps with franchise tradition, with every previous instalment garnering the same age restriction.
Insidious: Out of the Further stars Amelia Eve as Gemma, a young mother moving back to her home town. Gemma is disturbed by unnerving dreams and visions, soon becoming aware that she can travel to “The Further.”
However, unbeknownst to Gemma, she possesses a unique ability allowing her to bring dangerous entities out of The Further and into the real world. With her young daughter in danger, Gemma must learn to control her abilities before it’s too late.
The movie stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, Island Austin, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Franchise star Lin Shaye is also set to reprise her iconic role of Elise Renier in Out of the Further.
Come Play filmmaker Jacob Chase writes and directs, whilst James Wan, Jason Blum, and Oren Peli produce via Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Insidious: Out of the Further will hit screens on August 21st via Sony Pictures Releasing, with tickets expected to go on-sale soon.
