With the first trailer promised soon, it appears that the upcoming instalment in the Insidious franchise will not be titled Insidious: Chapter 4, as it’s been referred to thus far. Over on the BBFC’s site, where they’ve classified the trailer, the film now comes under the title Insidious: The Last Key.
Set years before the events of the previous three films, The Last Key takes us back to the younger years of Lin Shaye’s Elise Rainier. Growing up in New Mexico, Rainier and her family begin to experience malevolent spirits haunting their home. The young Elises will be played by Ava Kolker (The Axe Murders of Villisca) and Hana Hayes (To The Bone).
The film also stars Josh Stewart (Interstellar, The Collector), Tessa Ferrer (The Abducted) and Marcus Henderson (Get Out, Djange Unchained) plus returning stars Angus Sampson as Tucker and Leigh Whannell (who also, as with all previous instalments, wrote the film) as Specs.
Insidious: The Last Key is released in the US on January 5th, 2018 and in the UK on January 12th. Expect that trailer very soon.
