Recently, we learned that Frank Langella had been removed from Mike Flanagan’s upcoming Netflix horror series The Fall of the House of Usher in the wake of misconduct allegations. Langella was set to star as Roderick Usher, a role that will now be played by Bruce Greenwood (Doctor Sleep).
An eight-episode limited series, The Fall of the House of Usher is based on the tales of Edgar Allan Poe. Flanagan will direct four episodes, with Michael Fimognari directing the rest.
The ensemble cast The Fall of the House of Usher features numerous Flannagan regulars, including Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game), Carl Lumbly (Doctor Sleep), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), T’Nia Miller (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Kyliegh Curran (Doctor Sleep), Samantha Sloyan (Hush), Rahul Kohli (Midnight Mass), Kate Siegel (Hush), Zach Gilford (Midnight Mass), Michael Trucco (Midnight Mass), Katie Parker (Absentia), Crystal Balint (Midnight Mass), Matt Biedel (Midnight Mass), Igby Rigney (Midnight Mass), Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), and Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), as well as Aya Furukawa, Sauriyan Sapkota, and Ruth Codd, who will all star in Flannagan’s upcoming The Midnight Club).Mary McDonnell (Scream 4), Paola Núñez (The Purge), Malcolm Goodwin (iZombie), Daniel Jun (American Gods), and Mark Hamill (What We Do in the Shadows) also star.
