If you want to go into House of Darkness unspoiled, you might want to avoid this trailer, which makes it pretty clear what classic Gothic horror tale inspired the film! But if you don’t mind a few spoilers, then come on in…

Neil LaBute, who wrote and directed the 2006 remake of The Wicker Man, returns with House of Darkness, a “seductive thriller” starring Justin Long (Drag Me to Hell) and Kate Bosworth (Before I Wake). Here’s the official synopsis:

“Driving home to her secluded estate after meeting at a local bar, a player out to score thinks his beautiful, mysterious date will be another casual hook-up. While getting acquainted, their flirtation turns playful, sexy and sinister. Hoping to get lucky, his luck may have just run out.”

House of Darkness is releasing in limited theatres on September 9th ahead of its VOD release on September 13th. Check out the trailer below… if you dare.
