Ben Young’s tough Australian horror-thriller Hounds of Love hit SXSW audiences hard this year, and will likely invite a similar reaction when it is released in the US on May 12th. Ahead of then, this striking new poster has been released, which illustrates the dual perspectives from which this kidnap tale is told.
Starring Ashleigh Cummings (Tomorrow, When the War Began), Emma Booth (Blood Creek), Stephen Curry (Rogue) and Susie Porter (Little Fish), Hounds of Love is set in Perth in the mid-‘80s, where a succession of women are being abducted and killed by serial killer couple John (Curry) and Evelyn White (Booth). When Vicki Maloney (Cummings) becomes their latest catch, she realises she must drive a wedge through the couple if she is to escape alive. Check out the deeply unsettling, previously-released trailer below.
Here making his feature debut, writer-director Young is currently in pre-production on his next outing, Universal’s Extinction, which stars Michael Pena and was written by Academy Award nominee Eric Heisserer (Lights Out, Arrival).
