Following the success of Shudder’s 2019 documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, the streaming platform is bringing us a new horror anthology movie called Horror Noire—and the official trailer is finally here!
Horror Noire will showcase six stories of Black horror from Black directors and screenwriters. The segments—titled “Daddy,” “Bride Before You,” “Brand of Evil,” “The Lake,” “Sundown,” and “Fugue State”—include a mix of new and adapted stories from writers like Tananarive Due (My Soul to Keep), Steven Barnes (Lion’s Blood), Ezra Clayton (BTTM FDRS), Victor LaValle (The Ballad of Black Tom), Shernold Edwards (All Rise), and Al Letson (Reveals). The anthology’s cast includes Lesley-Ann Brandt (Lucifer), Luke James (The Chi), Erica Ash (Survivor’s Remorse), Brandon Mychal Smith (Four Weddings and a Funeral), Sean Patrick Thomas (The Curse of La Llorona), Peter Stormare (American Gods), Malcolm Barrett (Timeless), Tony Todd (Candyman), and Rachel True (The Craft).
