OK, just try to read this without getting palpitations. You’ll struggle. Victor Miller, the writer behind the original Friday the 13th, is co-writing a horror film that will star not one but TWO Jasons, as well as a host of horror veterans. Not only that, but Harry Manfredini, composer for virtually every Friday the 13th film, is working on the score.
The film in question is Rock Paper Dead, which will hopefully hit screens before the end of 2016. The film will star everyone’s favourite Jason, Kane Hodder, as well as the very first, Ari Lehman. Leading the cast with Hodder is bona fide horror legend Dee Wallace, whose 200-plus credits include The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Critters and Rob Zombie’s Halloween. Also starring are Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes, Cut and Run, The Devil’s Rejects), John Dugan (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’s Grandpa) and Dee Wallace’s daughter, Gabrielle Stone (Speak No Evil, Cut!). See? Exciting, no?
Synopsis:
A new entry into the horror family from the man who brought you Friday the 13th, Victor Miller. Rock Paper Dead is the story of serial killer, Peter “the Doll Maker” Harris, who returns to his ancestral family estate after being released from the state’s hospital for the criminally insane after twenty years – a “cured” man. Once inside that old house, anguished memories from a tortured childhood and the visitations from past victims shake Peter’s resolve, but it isn’t until lovely young Ashley enters his life that Peter makes a fateful decision. One that will rekindle old desires that always ended in murder.
Rock Paper Dead begins filming over the next couple of months, and it’s fair to say that hopes are high.
