A terrifying story recently came to light when an American family with young children started to receive horrifying letters from a stranger named “The Watcher”, declaring they were the owner of their residence and had been carefully watching the current tenants. The letters became so frightening that the family were forced to leave and are now suing the previous owners – The Woods family – for not telling them about The Watcher. A couple of particularly alarming notes read:“I asked the Woods to bring me young blood. Have they found what is in the walls yet? In time they will.”“My grandfather watched the house in the 1920s and my father watched in the 1960s. It is now my time. I have been put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming.”
The second coming of what?! If this isn’t grounds for the perfect horror film, I don’t know what it is. James Wan is one name tipped to be of interest in making the film and with Insidious and The Conjuring as recently massive horror hits, he would be a great choice. He’s a proven master of creating unbearable tension and genuine terror within his haunted house horror films, something definitely needed to bring this true tale to the big screen. Studios such as Blumhouse and Universal have also been showing keen interest, but at this stage, the rights are still up for grabs. I imagine it won’t be long until someone bites.
